What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) is a modern form of therapy that uses practical, well-researched strategies to help people make meaningful, positive changes in a relatively short time.
Rooted in Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and hypnosis, this unique blend of therapies was developed by David Newton, the founder of the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH), in the 1980s and has gained significant global recognition.
SFH is supported by a wealth of evidence showing its effectiveness. This approach focuses on the present and future, rather than analysing past problems. In the sessions I use specially designed 'Solution Focused' questions that encourage you to concentrate on the outcomes you want, the steps to get there, and the differences those changes will make.
In SFH, hypnotherapy helps you relax deeply and enter a state of focused concentration. Many people describe it as similar to daydreaming or getting lost in a good book. While you may feel deeply relaxed, the subconscious parts of your mind are actively working on a plan to help you achieve the goals we've discussed.
